I think I've fixed, but I'll wait your answer for close (wait for the commit
from skwashd).

The bug is on the FROM part of the SQL query, this was discovered with the help
of pooh_, thanks a lot :D.

Now, who in hell is the mantainer of that code that create the joins in a way
that mysql can't handle right?

ups, thats me (reassing bug for this).

never mind the changes in comm manager. With a default setup it's the same error

I changed from php session to db sessions. Same error

I do nothing special, just when I enter a value for a comm field (e.g. work
e-mail) all comm fields get filled with this value.

I did a fresh db install with the same setup, same error.

I did change the comm fields with comm manager and deleted some fields that I
do not need. That's the only thing that is different from a default setup.

What happens if you change/edit/delete some fields in comm manager?

It's still valid.

I also added a new contact and saved it, no problem. I then edited the new
contact and added home e-mail address, now all communications fields are filled
with the same value.

The db does NOT contain the multiple entries, so I guess it's ui related.
