you were right, perhaps someone should code something into phpgroupware that 
checks for this and lets the admin know that they don't have the required 
packages installed ?



I added the package and it works great...

Aren't you forgetting extension=imap.so in /etc/php.ini (or 
/etc/php.d/imap.ini)? Maybe you don't have some php-imap package installed?
