I have been running phpGW for 2 years, with the same db. I did a manual clean
up some time ago - removing old tables etc. Generally everything works fine.
Take a look phpgwapi/doc/php-configuration.txt - it has a few things you could
try.
I have closed this. Let me know if you want it reopenned.
=================== BUG #3793: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================
Submitted by: jpfingstmann Project: phpGroupWare
Submitted on: Thu 05/29/2003 at 08:10
Category: inv Bug Group: 0.9.14.003 release
Severity: 5 - Major Priority: Normal
Resolution: None Assigned to: ceb
Status: Closed Component Version: CVS
Platform Version: Linux - Other Reproducibility: Every Time
Summary: Inventory is blank!
Original Submission: I recently upgraded from .002 to .003 and unfortunately
didn't check all the modules, just the most frequently used modules for
functionality. I have just discovered that Inventory which had several hundred
items in it is now showing up blank! While looking at my databse I have inv
entries in phpgw_catagories:
77 77 0 0 7 public inv Sold 2002
a:2:{s:3:"tax";s:4:"0.00";s:6:"number";s:8:"2000-000";}
And products in phpgw_in_products:
71 Model PCS-C300 104966 EVID 30 panning camera 77 6
0 0.00 1199.00 1199.00 1 0 0
1018515600 1016442000 2
Yet when I enter Inventory in phpgw as I always have, it is showing 0
categories and no products. This bug is personally "High" priority, but I will
be setting it to normal as it would seem no one else is having this problem
(yet?). Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Please close this bug...I've decided to try to start phpgroupware from
scratch... We currently have several odd problems. Today a new one popped up
for no reason (infolog no longer works)...We've been using phpgroupware for
about a year and a half and we need to start from scratch (I get the feeling
our database is a mess).

Here is a list of things that have changed recently due to a server upgrade
(changed distros from SuSE 7.3 to Gentoo:
(The upgrade was before these changes, but problem not noticed until
afterwards).
1) phpgroupware site is in a physically different place on the server (now in
/home/httpd/htdocs/simplygw.wearesimply.com instead of
/usr/local/httpd/htdocs/simplygw.wearesimply.com)
2) Because of the distro update mcrypt is now version v. 2.6.4
3) Virtual Host directives in apache have changed slightly after the distro
upgrade
4) Shortly before this I had to manually delete some calendar entries (Ref:
Bug #1273) as when deleting a user that had a calendar event that was shared by
the user being deleted and the user the entries were assigned to be transferred
to it would produce that bug. Due to seldom inventory changes, it could be
that the inventory program might not have been used since after that therefore
not detecting possible problems.
5) When it didn't function properly, I tried uninstalling inventory from setup
and reinstalling inventory and copying back the phpgw_inv* tables from a backup
to mysql.
I hope that any of this helps. if it helps, I can give you read-only access to
the database and conf files.

Oh, by the way, I also tried it with a current CVS. Same problem.
