The color of an event in planner depend on its category and the color spezified 
there. To set a color for a certain category, edit the category and add a 
#RRGGBB value at the end of the description. If you have no colors set you will 
no see the end of an event, as the backgroundcolor of the event and the rest of 
the table is the same.

Summary:  Planner Events Not Displaying Properly

Original Submission:  When I submit an event stretching over several days and 
view it on the planner view I can see the start of the event and the name, but 
not the end of the event.  Also the event is in the same colour as the whole 
category, it would be more useful to be in a different colour.  However, the 
tooltip is correct.  Win2000/SP3 IE6.0.2800.1106
