Summary: Can't create Notes, Project and ToDo items

Original Submission:  Hi,

running with SuSE Linux (tried 7.1 and 8.0) with mysql 3.23.33 (and higher) and
apache 1.3.19 (and higher) and php 4.2.3 I can't create notes, todos and
project. If I try I see no error, but the new items do not appear in the list.
I've given me enough rights, so the bug must be elsewhere. The installation
went through without any problems, all tables seem to be there and access to
mysql works (I can login etc). Any help?

JoeR,

We are aware of this issue and the next release will work with register globals
off, but at the moment you must have register globals on for phpgw to work
properly.

Also None, Did this fix the problem?

Cheers

RE: php.ini -> register_globals = On ?

The Php.ini file in my distro states that this 'feature' will be deprecated
soon, and removed altogether in a future version. Seems its a security problem.

Email import addresses also uses this.

So all the applets that use this need to do something different before Php
breaks it all.

As far as I checked, the problem is not mySQL, I tested als with Postgres and
have the same result. But when I installed new (for postgres), I received one
error-message. The only one in the whole process.
After the header was installed and the tables where created, and its time to
install the apps for the first time, he says in the app-listing:
notes-Dependency Failure*:(appname: phpgwapi; versions: 0.9.13,0.9.14; appname:
admin; versions: 0.9.13,0.9.14; appname: preferences; versions: 0.9.13,0.9.14;
))D

The same for ToDo and Projects. So I can't check the boxes of that apps. I
choosed other apps, said ok, and when I came back to the list, these apps
(notes, etc) where ok! No error. I can check than also the boxes of these apps
and say ok and the apps are also installed.
What is the problem?
There are no older versions of phpgw on the system, only the files of the tar
archive. Went something wrong, during the creation of the tar file?
