Marauder,
I'm using 0.9.14.000.zip (or should I use 0.9.14-RC4?) Is it necessary to have
phpGW_client My interest in the phpGW is to have a working CVS intranet. I've
compared phpGW with viewCVS and Horde's Chora (with which I've discovered phpGW
uses Chora). Although Horde and phpGW are similar, for obvious reasons it is
necessary to find the best flexible solution for our purposes and since I do
not have a linux platform to test on, I have to find a solution that will work
with Winblows 2000. We were going to go with the SourceForge 2.0/2.5 framework
but had to scrub that. (I'm curious as to what version of SF savannah is
using). Our platform is Win2k OS, phpDev5(and phpDev4),MySQL with MySQL
Front,Perl and Python.

Thank you for your uncommonly quick response. It has reassured me that using
phpGW will be the best fit for our needs.

=================== BUG #967: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================

Submitted by: Marauder Project: phpGroupWare
Submitted on: 2002-Aug-08 14:34
Category: API - phpGWapi Bug Group: 0.9.14 release
Severity: 5 - Major Priority: Normal
Resolution: Fixed Assigned to: skeeter
Status: Closed Component Version: None
Platform Version: Linux - Mandrake Reproducibility: Every Time

Summary: Supplied argument is not valid File-Handle resource in
class.network.inc.php and additional text with idsociety

Original Submission: as mentioned in ID 905 and 922, I too recieve the error
message "Warning: Supplied argument is not a valid File-Handle resource in
/var/www/html/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/inc/class.network.inc.php on line 81"

However, on my system, when running with the idsociety interface template, it
is acompanied with

" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" topmargin="0" bottommargin="0"
rightmargin="0" leftmargin="0" border="0"
onLoad="MM_preloadImages('phpgwapi/templates/idsociety/images/nonav-over.png',
'addressbook/templates/idsociety/images/navbar-over.png',
'bookmarks/templates/idsociety/images/navbar-over.png',
'calendar/templates/idsociety/images/navbar-over.png',
'email/templates/idsociety/images/navbar-over.png',
'notes/templates/idsociety/images/navbar-over.png',
'projects/templates/idsociety/images/navbar-over.png',
'todo/templates/idsociety/images/navbar-over.png',
'phpgwapi/templates/idsociety/images/nonav-over.png',
'phpgwapi/templates/idsociety/images/nonav-over.png',
'phpgwapi/templates/idsociety/images/nonav-over.png',
'/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/templates/idsociety/images/log_out2_over.png',
'/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/templates/idsociety/images/preferences2_over.png',
'/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/templates/idsociety/images/question_mark2_over.png',
'/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/templates/idsociety/images/welcome2.png');"
background="/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/templates/idsociety/images/content_spacer_middle.png">
 "

other interface themes have just the class.network.inc.php warning message,
only idsociety produces this extra text.

both of these problems are resolved by commenting out line 81 in
phpgwapi/inc/class.network.inc.php
(/*socket_set_timeout($this->socket,$timeout,0);*/)

The install is an upgrade from 0.9.14RC3 (I also tried creating a new directory
for phpgw, copying the old header.inc.php to ensure it was not an artifact of
being upgraded)

The above mentioned line of code is not in the older version of the file, but
was added between releases. Commenting out that line resolved both problems on
my install.

Hi Marauder,

This one has been closed for a month or so now. I will always close a bug if
the person who opened ask me to unless there are other outstanding issue
related to the report by posted by others. I think it is better that way,
because someone else may still be experiecing problems.

As for iacchus's problem. Please refer to bug report 1314 (
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailbug&bug_id=1314&group_id=509 ) There
will be a solution there very soon.

Cheers

What version of phpGroupWare are you using, the CVS, or 0.9.14 Release?

Also, the commenting of the socket_set_timeout($this->socket,$timeout,0); line
in class.network.inc.php that I referred to was in reference to another
problem. This one has been resolved, and can be closed.

(There should be a way for the person who opened a bug be able to close it)

I'm new to phpGroupWare (just installed it about 30min ago) and am recieving
this error: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare perfgetmicrotime() (previously
declared in e:\phpdev5\www\phpgroupware\header.inc.php:101) in
e:\phpdev5\www\phpgroupware\header.inc.php on line 99
After doing some research I've found this mentioned only here. Marauder
mentions commenting/uncommenting a line of code, however I'm uncertain as to
what line they are referring to. I'm using phpDev5 on a win2k pro OS.

I know this problem has been corrected.

The new problem perfgetmicrotime(), must be because you applied a patch that CW
had posted to the news group. This has been incorporated into the API and is
now conflicting. One way to correct this would be to back out CW's patch.

Thanks,
Mark A Peters (Skeeter)

I was wrong, I was tricked because cache phpgwinfo array was enabled and it had
cached the previous stuff (see bug# 972).. I diable it and wham,. it all
reappears.

wait, I did not update from CVS yet... I will try that

ok, after updating from CVS, telling it to update the header, it blows up, upon
returning to the header config

"You appear to have MySQL support enabled
You appear to have Postgres-DB support enabled
No Microsoft SQL Server support found. Disabling
No Oracle-DB support found. Disabling
You appear to be using PHP4. Enabling PHP4 sessions support
Found existing configuration file. Loading settings from the file...

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare perfgetmicrotime() in
/var/www/html/phpgroupware/header.inc.php on line 99"

interesting, it seems to work fine now when I uncomment the line.

Thanks, I've done a bunch since I commented the offending line out, including
making changes to the header, so it seems that may have corrected the setup on
my server. Still, I think this A) should be detected and handled better, and B)
discussed in a FAQ somewhere

Hi Marauder,

A clean install is not required. Run a cvs update, go into your header and
simply regenerate it save it. Should work.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers
