Are you sure you are using Postgres 4.2? I'm not sure that even exists. You
are probably using 7.2, maybe 6.2, but that is very old also.

Summary: Cannot connect to Postgres Database

Original Submission: After installing and saving header.inc.php, I get:

Warning: Unable to connect to PostgreSQL server: FATAL 1: Missing or erroneous
pg_hba.conf file, see postmaster log for details in
/var/www/html/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/inc/class.db_pgsql.inc.php on line 85

when I try to go into setup. I can access the database both locally using psql
and remotely using pgAdmin II, so I know that the postmaster is running an
accepting connections.

I have tried password, crypt, md5, ident, and trust on the localhost line in
the pg_hba.conf. All change the behavior of psql, but I get the same error
from phpgroupware.

PostgreSQL 4.2.0

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rob Hutton
