OK.  I figured it out.  My user agent was not changing the branch in the Via header so Osip did not recognize the response to the challenge as a new transaction.

Subject: [Partysip-dev] Re:How does authentication work

I’m running partysip-2.1.0 on a LINUX platform I have authentication turned on and the user info set.

When I do a register I get the challenge response but when I register again with the authorization header

I still get a 401.  Looking at the output it looks like the state machine is treating the second register as a retransmit of the original and does not process the authentication info.

Is the state machine set up to handle a response to the challenge?
