But so that this doesn't happen to the next guy: What compiler/version are you using, do you know which default flags it has?
We probably just need to add one flag where the default has changed...

You could try to compile with full output to gain more insight and check the full commandline invocation of the linking stage:
make AIRCRAFT=Quad_LisaMX nps.compile Q=''

Since the package is found, the build will try to use that... you could try to uninstall that packages and build jsbsim lib from source in opt and use that...

Yep I removed the paparazzi-jsbsim package and everything built fine.  I didn't realise that they are the same software.  I thought the paparazzi-jsbsim package must have had some extra bits.
