Hi,

did you try to replace the xbee link with a "normal" serial cable (e.g. using a FTID serial cable or the serial port of a JTAG or BlackMagicProbe)?

That should work without problems.
If it does, then you know for sure it is your xbee configuration (which depends on which xbee model exactly you have).
