Hi,

The normal procedure is to connect the usb cable to your computer and to 
the apogee, then power the apogee board and finally press upload.
How did you try to upload the code ?
If the microcontroller is correctly started in dfu mode, you should a 
STMicroelectronics device with the command 'lsusb' in a terminal.
