Hi Ben,
i found the following: in the data sheet:
Note: GLENS and GPS signals cannot be received and tracked simultaneously by u-blox 7 modules.
NV08C-CSM
http://de.farnell.com/jsp/displayProduct.jsp?sku=1902504&CMP=KNC-GDE-FDE-GEN-SKU-MDC&mckv=shYHNzYVc|pcrid|26381260863|kword|nv08c-csm|match|p|plid|

This receiver uses two  MAX2769 the Piksi only one.
The  NV08C-CSM receiver performs also pseudo ranges and phase information for RTK.
Normally  the gps antenna  for the  RTK  base station has to avoid reflections an use  a metal plane with >20cm diameter.

I am surprised  that only  a small module antenna of the Piksi can perform phase measurements .
How is this  physically  possible?
In 2010 we made experiments with the  ublox  samls module and RTK.
We had errors in the 50cm range.

BTW, u-blox 7 can do GLONASS, but its not clear if it can do it at the
same time as GPS.

Hi Ben,

GLONASS+GPS are incompatible because they use different frequencies and
modulators.
The NV08C-CSM has tow different frond ends.

Aha! Do you know where one can get hold of them?

GPS+GALILEO are compatible. But we have to wait a few years for a working
GALILEO system.
The satellites are manufactured in Bremen.

Hi Christophe,
the RTK- project from Japan runs with the beagle board and low cost ublox
receivers:
http://gpspp.sakura.ne.jp/paper2005/isgps_2009_rtklib_revA.pdf
A low cost solution is to combine the raspberry pi (45Euro) with Navilog NL
507TTL (13 Euro) for a DGPS base station and upload the correction data
with the paparazzi link to the UAV (rover).

To get better position data to use a multi norm receiver like the
NV08C-CSM ( http://www.nvs-gnss.com/products/receivers.html
GLONASS+GPS+GALILEO+SBAS ) is also a excellent way . My smart phone has
also a muti norm receiver and uses up to 21 satellites for position
estimation.

According to the chip docs u-blox 6 has 50 channels. is this different
from multi-norm?

is it available yet?
en what is the status of the RTK software?

Happy New Year,

The Piksi RTK GPS team mentioned Paparazzi integration in a prior campaign
update, are any devs here working on this?

Thanks for your time.

Best regards
Richard
