Hi Alec,
the problem with the gumstic is the 1.8V interface and that the board need additional power interface.
This is considered with the Lisa/L.
The UART connections of the LPC2148 are used for telemetry and GPS. So there is no free connection.
The Lisa/M has a free  UART connection.
You can also try the raspberry. This board has 3.3V connection and UART and I2c and SPI interface with 3.3V
You can also use a TWOG in combination with the low cost IMU from Drotek (12 or 35 Euro).
For the Umarim Lite V2 you need a additional 24bit pressure sensor with i2c interface (.http://www.drotek.fr/shop/en/44-ms5611-pressure-barometric-board.html).
You can ask same one to construct the lisa/L.
This will solve many problems you have.
Making them by hand will need about 15-20 hours.
For the IMU wiht the Lisa/L you can use the Asperin, PPZ or Drotek.
Regards

Heinrich

Hello,

We have some navigation algorithms running on a gumstix Firestorm and are interested in interfacing that to a Paparazzi autopilot.  Being new to Paparazzi and on a fairly short timeframe, we prefer to buy an assembled board.  We are currently looking at using an Umarim Lite V2 (largely because of availability, and we are interested in fixed-wing) and a serial interface to the Firestorm, and are wondering if anybody has experience with the combination.  Any issues with this particular combo?  Is there an existing Paparazzi module that can be used for the serial communication?

If there is a better option than Umarim for interfacing with the Firestorm we would also be interested in hearing about that.  We considered Lisa/L, but have not been able to find a source for an assembled board.  The folks at Transition Robotics haven’t responded to our queries.   David Conger was helpful and said he would look into making some, but he does not have any available at this time.

Thanks,

Alec
