Hi,
I am on the way to make a description on the wiki, but an
abstarct now:
- Canon: look for the Canon Hack Development Kit. It has
an USB Remote
function, which actually triggers the camera via the USB
connector
Shame. My model is one of the few not supported. :(
- I fixed the camera to the fuselage without any gimbal. I
applied only
some precautional measure to avoid the causes of a crash.
- if you implement the digital_cam and the photogrammetry
module, you'll
get a telemetry message with attitude and position
information on each
shot. The message additionally contains an incremental ID,
that can be
paired with the image names of the camera.
- image stiching: Hugin. An own script is useful to create
an initial
arrangement of images for the Hugin based on the telemetry
messages.
I would be very interested in that workflow.
I'll be more detailed when I am back from holiday.
Sure. Thanks for helping out.
I will be busy with the physical aspects of that challenge for
a while. And remote triggering will still be a issue.
I have to investigate if my camera has one of those IR
triggers. Perhaps I can McGyver something...
Which Ixus model do you have exactly?
Canon DIGITAL IXUS 85 IS ( according to EXIF data )
That is actually not such a bad idea.
I was looking for IR triggers for this camera. But it does not
actually seem to be supported.
I would hate to hack the thing open. But it's a option.
