OPSss ... i think something wrong here.
I have a mikrokopter board with piezo gyros and with new mems gyros. The board with piezo gyro is much more sensitive to vibration than the board with mems. i fly MK´s for more than 3 years and tested this board with tons of gyros. > Date: Tue, 3 Apr 2012 09:28:43 +0200 > From: address@hidden > To: address@hidden > Subject: Re: [Paparazzi-devel] Using Thermopiles for AHRS on Lisa/M instead of IMU > > Dear Chris, > piezo gyros are normally more vibration resistive than silicon gyros. > For example, the mikrocopter use only rubber damper when silicon gyros > are used. > The active (swinging) material in piezo gyros has 10..100 times grater > mass than in silicon gyros. > Fubata use special kind of damper material (flame). > It is also possible that one of your sensor chips has a failure. > You can spend 56 Euro to by a sparkefun IMU with the same chips and > test again to prove this. > The IR AHS works, but has shown same failures in cloudy and wet > weather conditions. > Sometimes it is a very hard and frustration work to get success. > I hope that you fly with paparazzi soon. > > regards > > Heinrich Warmers > > Chris Wozny schrieb: > > >All, > > > >For reasons outside of my power (trying to dampen vibrations in tiny, > >tiny aircraft leads to massive hair loss and frustration) I've got to > >resort to using IR for the AHRS on our aircraft instead of Aspirin > >v1.0.
