I was in a hurry and i forgot to mention that the whole camera module 
with lat/long idea started as a SAR project (Search And Rescue) for the 
sea hence the flat earth) which is always done over sea.
The lat long data was a fast method of notifying the rescuers below.
The low uav speed was found to be a very efficient method for searching 
in the sea
because larger planes tend to overlook things because of their speed, 
cant look beneath the aircraft easily enough (when the distance from the 
surface is at minimum) and can't fly low enough
for safety reasons.
Also the video feed was very good because of the undisturbed fresnel 
zone not to mention that with the cost of fuel today a simple 4 meter 
UAV can fly 6 hours with 8 liters of gasoline and costs about 3000 Euros 
(for the flying part).
Then it grew up for other needs together with the UAV size...
