I was actually more referring to the fact that apparently the CAM message already contained all the needed information and enables the display of the cam footprint in the GCS.
Just curious for what applications you need to calculate the lat/lon onboard to have it availabe in a message right away....

It was a way to reduce the load on the telemetry and the cpu for max module frequency (60Hz).
If you don't need the cam coordinates then a lot of calculations are not needed.
It isn't actually needed if you think that the cpu has enough horse power.
At 30Hz module frequency that i use i can;t see anything wrong so this definition can be
removed from the code.
