Hi.
Check to see if the gain is 1000 as was in mine.
My sensors had 500Kohm and 500Ohm resistors for a gain of 1000 right 
from the factory.
Having said that i did played with gain a lot and finally i used a gain 
of 800 because of saturation problems here in Greece but i bet you will 
not have this problem in UK.
I have used any resistor i found from 1/4w size to 602 smd with no problems.
