Regarding usage of USB ports on Lisa, the following page is unfortunately quite deeply buried in the wiki (and the wiki search doesn't seem to find it) so I'd like to bring it to attention :

http://paparazzi.enac.fr/wiki/Lisa_USB

In short, USBH and USB OTG ports on Lisa have been tested with a plethora of devices including cameras (http://paparazzi.enac.fr/wiki/Lisa_Logitech_Camera). Folks are encouraged to add their devices to the page.

Sometimes devices asking for lots of current from the OTG port will be refused but I've heard that can be coded around. Also results can vary with or without hub, whether the device insertion is done pre or post power on, and other factors, so if at first you don't succeed, keep at it. If by "internet key" you mean one of those 3G USB dongles, yes, with a little work you can get that working. The one I tried was an orange (france) branded huwaei device that required usb-modeswitch (since one of those funky devices that can present itself either as a storage device or a network interface) for which there is an openembedded recipe. Also, using a modern smartphone also works quite nicely (my HTC Android device showed up as a network interface automagically and shared both the its wifi and 3G connections)

Since you ask about camera, I've briefly tested the omnivision-based econsys module (http://www.e-consystems.com/omapovero.asp) and it works although had reliability issues with the ultrafine pitch ffc cable. I haven't tested gumstix's caspa modules yet, but would be glad to if someone sends me one (or two for stereo :-)

Regarding connection between what you call Lisa autopilot-- which I presume you mean STM32 micro-- and the gumstix, the SPI link works great.

Regarding RC interface: I know the spektrum radios work quite well with Lisa as a few devs have worked on that in depth, and less sure the status of PPM decode, but it's either done or on the short list.

Paul

Hi Niki,

I can answer some of your questions but not all.

> 1) Aerodynamic angles, alpha and beta: two general analog inputs available on Lisa/L. Are there control loops ready to use these information?

Sorry I can't help you on this one.

> 2) GPS: What item/module should we use?

You can use multiple. Anything that works with a TWOG or BOOZ will be fine.
I.e. https://store.ppzuav.com/osc/product_info.php?cPath=15&products_id=110&osCsid=7lbk5kniuj436mkprg1489n761

> 3) Video-Camera: Can we use the USB OTG port for video-camera control purpose?

Can't really help you there. but I'd imagine that you'd want to keep the flight computer free for flying and use the overo.
A post came through a little while ago for the PIXHAWK.
http://www.gumstix.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=254
This looks like a good option. they don't give example images through so who knows what the quality is like. :-(

> 4) Internet Key: Can we use the USB Host port for Internet key interfacing? Are software interfaces available already?

I think this may have been done but I can't find an applicable wiki page at the moment.

> 5) External Computational Module: Is it possible to use the Gumstix Overo FE together with autopilot Lisa L?

Yes apparently you can do this but I haven't yet. but would like to.

> 6) Servos and Engine control: Is a PPM decoder needed? Can we control the servos (four) and the engine without any further modules?

No further hardware is required for servos. you'll need ESC for motors of course.

HTH.

Cheers,
Bernie.

I really like the performance, and ability to integrate with gumstix, etc. Some test-flying has to be done and some code-writing as well.  And this whole process is very exciting. Well, unless you have to show your flying project to your customets :)
