OK thanks.
The newlib is installed successfully on my mac now.

That's a really good idea. :-) I've updated the portfile and pushed it to have a backup of my server.
When we get it a copy on Piotr's server we'll add that too.

Please feel free to merge this with the master.

Cheers,
Bernie.

Grrr that redhat site is a pain, what do you think of getting piotr to host newlib on his server and we can have that as one of the places to pull from ?

Ok I've updated the sources that the port can be pulled from.
In my testing however it still falls back to the redhat source and I'm getting the same problem :-(

Seems the only solution is to keep trying as it will eventually succeed. :-(

Bernie.

I thought I had done this already...???
I'll check now and push an update if haven't.

Bernard,

Is there an alternative location we can get this from ? then modify the port file to suit ?

Hi Leandro,

Yes Eric and I continually experienced this problem while developing the Mac port.

The only way I found to easily see that it was working was to install the arm-none-eabi-gcc-linaro port using the command
sudo port -d install arm-none-eabi-gcc-linaro
This would then print the download progress.
If I saw that the progress had stopped I would hit Control-C and try it again.
It would usually successfully download after a few attempts.

Cheers,
Bernie.

Hello
Does anyone also have problems to fetch newlib-1.19.0.tar.gz?
I've also tried to download it via firefox.
I reach the FTP-Server but can not download the file...

OSX Terminal last line:
--->  Attempting to fetch newlib-1.19.0.tar.gz from ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/newlib/
