Yes, I am not using the new overo-board but a Verdex-series.
Does not make much of a difference.

Yes, it is a vanilla-Linux-Kernel with the usual arm-patches applied.
It is not using µCLinux on the Gumstix-Platform.
You can run any Linux-application that has been compiled for the 
armv4l-architecture.
