Excellent Idea for a page. I've noticed this sort of information is missing from the site too but I'm waiting for my next pay to purchase the paparazzi hardware...

One thing I noticed in the pics showing the orientation of the IR sensors in the second picture is upside down compared to the first.
i.e. in the first the cable connection goes down where as in the second it goes up.
Does this matter?
From what I've read I don't think it matters but it might be good for people like me who aren't quite sure...

I have almost everything I need to install the paparazzi autopilot in my aircraft except the little molex pins, so I am planning how I will mount all of the different bits on the aircraft(high wing trainer).

I started by searching the wiki, and the mailing lists, and I found some of the information I needed.

I took the information I found, and created a new page on the wiki:  <--- Please take a look and add or edit
I didn't make any links to the page yet, pending some further review.

The parts that are still unclear to me are:

1. Is there a particular way that I should mount the gyro? Does orientation matter?

2. Modem
    a. How far away from the receiver and antenna is considered safe?
    b. Can the xbee module be within a couple of inches away from the motor and speed controller?

3. Is there any special issue with mounting the autopilot, other than making sure the GPS has good signal?
