[Paparazzi-devel] Funjet Back Plate

Dear Pascal & Dirk-Willem

Thanks for the advice.

Unfortunately Dirk -Willem I have taken Pascal's advice and purchased the plywood and balsa to construct the sandwich.
I propose (no laughing please) to use  CADopia's intelliCad 8 to create an image of the back plate and have it cut by laser. Overkill or not?

I was wondering in addition does one attach the Z sensor or the WI232EUR modem module (in my case) or both to the rear face of the back plate or is it not appropriate to attach anything?.

Those wishing to pass on past experience in this matter would be appreciated

Regards

Stephen

Could someone kindly tell me what material the back plate, upon which the gyroscope and mini B USB connector is mounted in this photo, is made of?
I initially thought it was plywood and subsequently bought a small piece of 6 mm hooppine ply. Unfortunately the cross section profile was different to that
depicted in the photo, causing me to doubt my initial view and thus seek your help.

It's a (plywood?) sandwich (probably balsa or foam in the middle). So your plate is a lot heavier. I'd opt for something lighter and/or thinner - anything should go as long as it is not conductive. Styrofoam plate may be ideal.

Hi,

it is a sandwich of plywood-balsa-plywood, about 1mm-6mm-1mm
But your 6mm board should be ok (probably heavy but ...)
