Are you sure that the 'link' agent is running?
Are you sure that your modem is on /dev/ttyUSB0 (and not /dev/ttyUSB1 for example)?
Did you check that you are receiving something on your ttyUSB port (you can do that by using a program such as minicom and setting is to use your serial port with correct baud rate. The data is binary, so it wont be readable, but you should see small burst of data on a regular interval.
You can also test your serial cable by connecting the TX to the RX with a small jumper and making sure that the data you type in minicom does come back to you.
 
That's a start...
 
We would also need to see parts of your airframe config file to be sure it matches your pprz center configuration.

Ok so i am still having my comm problems through the modems. Here is where i am at. I have tested the board with the ftdi cable and it is bauding at 38400 and sends data which my computer reads fine. I have tested my serial to usb and that works, also i viewed the output from the serial to usb connected to the modem when the pprz modem was on. It seemed to be recieving data.... I am having a real hard time figuring out what this problem is, can anyone help???
