CreateDLL is not compatible with the latest VS abi's. ctl needs to have an export macro scheme added to it, same as OpenEXR has.
(In case anyone is wondering, I don't have a windows machine at the moment which is why I'm always exhorting others to do this and that on windows)

Adding the dllexport to ctl-1.4.1 would seem like a waste of effort.
I am not sure if I am barking at the wrong tree. Not sure who maintains CTL and OpenEXR_CTL.
