Sorry,

i was confusing you....

I have just finished to 'study' hdri format file and i would like to use
openexr to do what i wrote in my previous post....

Sorry for my mystake, it's too damn hot here in italy :)

It is kind of off topic, since the problem is not inherent to OpenEXR, but
anyway, I too am interested in the answer to this question.

We are using the Maya + Mental Ray combination to produce our HDR images.

One problem in particular that we are seeing is due to the use of
specularity in the lighting model.

Specularity isn't properly a reflection of real light sources, but rather a
camera space approximation to reflected light sources in the environment.

As a result when we merge the images together, we are finding that there are
very obvious seams since the camera matrices have been set up differently to
generate the various views. There may be other problems leading to those
seams, but we are still researching. I'm expecting we'll see similar
problems with anisotropic shaders, spherical environment maps, and so on.

I need to merge many hdri images information to reproduce a very very big
environment light scene....are there many docs on the net regarding this
topic ?

Thank you !
