Update of patch #8513 (project octave):
Priority: 5 - Normal => 1 - Later
Summary: [octave forge] (mapping): SRTM3 tools => [octave
forge] (mapping): SRTM / .hgt tools

Follow-up Comment #8:
OK, I had a brief look.
The functionality isn't very hard to understand for an earth scientist like
me, and I think in itself these functions would be a worthwhile addition to
the mapping package.
OTOH there's quite a bit of work required w.r.t. Matlab compatibility, style,
copyright (what's the contributor's name?), proper texinfo header, input
validation (none at all now AFAICS) and BIST tests (also none at all), to
mention just a few things.
And next, to link them to other mapping package functions like mapshow, ....
If I pick up at all, it'll be quite a bit into the future.
Priority ==> Later
