Red Hat actually also releases the source rpms, and supports the free community operating system CentOS, which is identical to Red Hat Enterprise. Red Hat are also heavily investing in Fedora, which is completely free.
Also Ubuntu has commercial support, and non-free components. See https://www.ubuntu.com/support
