"No group chosen" is the error message I always see when I log into Savannah
from the bug tracker overview page; but when I log in from the page of any
bug (or patch, or task) report, it all works fine.

Savannah has a few other little glitches as well. E.g., when I receive a
bug report update in my email, clicking on the URL to the bug report fails
because the right ">" bordering the URL is included with the URL. And yes,
then I get the "No group chosen nogroup" error, too. Apparently that's
Savannah's 404 replacement page.

Can you check whether your browser, or any of it's plugins, is altering the Referrer field?

In Firefox, if I use about:config and have the key network.http.referer.spoofSource set to True then I get the "No Group" error.  This is annoying because my default setting *is* to spoof the Referrer field to reduce the tracking by marketers and admen.  Also in Firefox, check the value of network.http.sendRefererHeader.  I have it set at 2 which works when no spoofing is used.
