I agree that we should provide a smaller binary like the actual
mxe-cross-builts containing a script for installing a few included
packages. With the script the user can easily figure out how to install
further packages. If the binary is still hosted on OF I would like to
suggest a direct link from the download page
http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/download.html
to OF. At the moment only the wiki about installing octave ion windows
contains a link to OF.

A more comfortable installer with selectable OF-packages might then be
subject to reminders on donations or whatever we think is suitable.
