No reason why not. There's other functions in OF that could be moved
into core, see https://savannah.gnu.org/task/?12153

For some reason, I think that Ed Meyer was trying to do that for
ellipj or ellipke functions. I may be wrong, I can't find on my
e-mails anything pointing that.

wasn't me - I seem to recall volunteering to port gsvd but someone
else beat me to it - I suppose I should find out how that's going. Also
