I suppose we could leave the glob code alone and convert all \ to / on
input, and then undo that on output.
Yes that might be a possibility.
I don't know if supporting mixed-slash paths is really required,
although to my knowledgt windows allows it.
We can do that since we don't
use any \x escape sequences when we call glob. Otherwise, I think we
will have to fix the glob function to not allow \x escape sequences at
all on Windows systems.

I see in glob-match.h there is an enum
enum opts
{
pathname = 1, // No wildcard can ever match `/'.
noescape = 2, // Backslashes don't quote special chars.
period = 4 // Leading `.' is matched only explicitly.
};
does the "noescape" here correspond to the GLOB_NOESCAPE?
