Thomas Treichl and I need help getting Octave to actually build on
OSX, due to problems introduced with the new sparse sort code. I
think this should be resolved before a 3.0.1 release.

The sort code is in the mercurial head, whereas as 3.0.1 is a the bug
fix release for 3.0.0.. If you can build 3.0.0 on OSX then you should be
able to build 3.0.1..

OK...I thought that (3.0.1 == mercurial head). Since that appears to not be the case, then I guess this bug is a non-3.0.1 bug.

We haven't been able to build CVS since before the 31-Jan-2008, when the sort patches were checked in. Thomas has done a lot more trying to get this resolved than I have, and sent out an email earlier today about what we have tried so far.
