No, there is no leak on linux, only on cygwin. I took a look at the valgrind web page, and it suggests that it works for x86-linux only. Does anyone have suggestions for good tools to debug this (as john says, it could very well be a cygwin bug, so the tool needs to be able to test for memory leaks in system libraries)
Memory leaks are tough to debug. We have this "MacKay leak"[*] for a while, and no valgrind can help much so far ... :( [*] http://www.octave.org/octave-lists/archive/bug-octave.2004/msg00352.html
