Thanks, I forgot to link this report from over there.

I don’t think it concerns me that the tests are being run. I’m concerned
the tests appear to be run with the core version of the mad function as and
not the package version.  It would be perfectly reasonable for a shadowed
function to have very different expected behavior, even though in this case is
mainly just showing different error messages, that’s why octave produces
shadowing warnings.
