Follow-up Comment #22, bug#65312 (group octave):
It looks to me that we have some underlying problem in octave code (thread
contention?) that exposed by either GLib issues on Fedora
or Qt6 issues (icon provider) on Debian.
I do not see a slow-down -- it either hangs or not.
it also hangs for me on Qt5.
