Follow-up Comment #7, bug#65244 (group octave):

The changes look good to me in general. I'm not so sure about the part
concerning `long double` though. This would be the first time that that type
would be used unconditionally in Octave.

They are used conditionally in `octave_int<T>`. But that is guarded by
`OCTAVE_INT_USE_LONG_DOUBLE`.
ISTR that `long double` are a mess when it comes to cross-platform
compatibility. Is it save to use them unconditionally here?
