What I had in mind is below.  

Plot is very important in delivering the message that a user wants the
audience to focus on.  So, frequently, extensive formatting is required to get
to a presentable form. At certain point, what people would see is not really
what all in the figure or axes. Sometime, a subset of the (figure or axes)
children are already hidden.  

In matlab, I typically used the "select" from the figure menu to bring up the
object and edit, until ....  It is not like, in Octave, things are done with
commands.  So there are some overhead to find out what were actually done or
there needs to be a way to playback of what has been done.    

Ideally (for me), the same formatted axes contents, including its
(selected/visible) children, can come and go as a group can make this easier. 


I have not experienced any issue in entering comments yesterday /today.
