Follow-up Comment #24, bug#64975 (group octave):

FTR,
with the patch from comment #22, with Octave 10.0.0 on Windows (crossbuild) I
now get:

Elapsed time is 744.692 seconds.
ans = 399.75even 

so that's even quite a bit faster than 9.0.0 (see comment #15).
 __vm_enable__ (0) or __vm_enable__ (1)  makes almost no difference.

I see 2 FAILs in inv.cc-tst I haven't seen before, I'll check that out later.
