Follow-up Comment #9, bug #63063 (project octave):

I am adding my patch for bug #49408 here, since it depends on the patch in
comment #8. In this patch, I changed how data are stored and processed in
integrate_adaptive.m, which actually solved the outstanding difference when
outputting a struct (last bullet point in comment #8). This patch therefore
also contributes to fixing this bug.

Note that all my test cases now match Matlab output exactly (apart from minor
formatting differences). I also removed the warning when integrate_adaptive.m
encounters a terminal Event or OutputFcn return, since Matlab doesn't display
a warning in either of those cases.
