Follow-up Comment #15, bug #62412 (project octave):

Yes. If an output is requested that would indicate a failure, then there is no
need for an additional message. However, in a strict sense only quad (with its
IER output) does that. quadgk and quadcc give the expected error, but the user
would have to compare that to the requested accuracy. Would that count
according to your criterion "an output that would allow to determine..."?
