Folks, before this bug is properly closed, I suggest to read and get duly and
fully inspired by "Everything Is Broken" -

In this case in particular Octave is architecturally broken - Java should have
never been a part of Octave executable. Instead, if/when Java is needed (Excel
data parsing ?) it should be used via IPC.
