Follow-up Comment #6, bug #43742 (project octave):

Thank you for this. I do not know when the option was introduced in Matlab but
it would definitely be a good feature to have in Octave; I came across the
compatibility issue again this week.

I currently use the workaround "real(ifft(X))": if the only consequence is
that it is slower and uses more memory, it would still be useful to have it in
place until a proper implementation is added.
