Follow-up Comment #4, bug #61674 (project octave): I tried your patch for some moving average filter on a very long signal. The speedup was substantial (~ 5 times), but I cannot interrupt calculations with Ctrl-C. Perhaps we should not eliminate octave_quit() but check for it every say 100 or 1000 cycles or so.
