Follow-up Comment #1, bug #60652 (project octave):
You're reporting that you are on Windows. Is that true for both your
computers? Two questions:
1. Are you using the CLI or the GUI for Octave? (If you don't know that: are
you starting Octave from the command prompt cmd.exe or from the start menu /
desktop shortcut directly?) If you've used only one, can you try the other and
see if it works and report back?
2. Are you using any East Asian (Chinese / Japanese / Korean) character sets?
If not, are you using any character sets that use extended Unicode characters
bigger than one byte? (E.g. extended Latin characters with umlauts, accents,
etc.) If so, do you know what your Windows locale settings are? Octave uses
UTF-8 internally and depending on Windows codepage settings it can sometimes
mess up the display.
Possibly related to bug #58717, bug #58637, bug #47571 / bug #55689, bug
#43099, and bug #50409.
