Follow-up Comment #19, bug #33118 (project octave):

As expected with a large code change, there have been some unintended side
effects.  I've also attached the files from printing the plot to PDF output. 
In Octave version 6.2 the plot is correctly sized and includes the axes and
axes labels.  After this change, the development version of Octave no longer
includes the y-axis and label in the output PDF.
