Re comment #21,
Further mentioning "For example, if you are using bash, this can be achieved
by adding the line 

export MKL_THREADING_LAYER=gnu

to the .bashrc file" would really help a lot of users. Many beginner friendly
GNU/Linux OS still use bash by default.
