Follow-up Comment #72, bug #57635 (project octave): Please find attached a patch for testing. I have tested it on Debian with Qt 5.11.3 and 5.13.2. It "manually" sets the focus to the current tab and the related edit-area when the editor (re-)gets focus (e.g., when tab was closed or completion list finished). When the completion list is cancelled by ESC, the only way I found to re-activate the non-working shortcuts is hiding and re-activating the editor window. As a consequence, there is an extra flickering. That's why I have not pushed the patch to stable yet, but attached it to this comment for testing it beforehand.
