Follow-up Comment #34, bug #58323 (project octave):

I just filed bug #58370. If/when that bug is resolved, an entire block of
commands, with lines separated by newlines, could be sent to the command line
for further editing before pressing Enter to ship it to the lexer/parser. I'm
not sure if that's what people are looking for on this bug report, but it's
something I'd like to have working for other non-GUI uses.
