Follow-up Comment #13, bug #57591 (project octave):

The errors might be more prevalent than the current green markings in the
buildbot's waterfall view might suggest.
If a test causes the buildbot to interrupt with a segmentation fault, the
overall test is still marked as "green".

Maybe someone with more expertise in setting up buildbot could take a look?

That won't solve the actual issue. But it might make it easier to judge the
impact and prevalence.
